Hyderabad: A female makeup artist working in the Telugu film industry approached the Madhura Nagar police alleging she was sexually assaulted and cheated by a man who promised to marry her.
As per available information, the 29-year-old woman who had divorced her husband four years ago and working as a makeup artist became friends with the suspect, Sai Ram (29), at a film set about two years ago.
The man, she said, had promised to marry her and they both lived together for the last one year in a rented house in Rahmath Nagar. Recently, he dumped her and went absconding after collecting money from her.
She alleged that he had promised to marry her and sexually exploited her when they both lived together. “However, recently he started avoiding her giving lame excuses and went absconding,” police said.
The woman first lodged a complaint with the Sanathnagar police, who booked a ‘Zero FIR’ and subsequently transferred it to Madhura Nagar police station on jurisdiction basis.
The case is under investigation.
