Sangareddy: At least eleven students of the Model School in Morgi of Nagulgidda mandal fell ill after consuming dinner at the hostel mess on Sunday night. The students, who were served chicken for dinner, a dish typically provided during lunch, reported that the meat emitted a foul smell.
Soon after the meal, several students complained of vomiting and loose motion. Out of 68 hostel inmates, eleven took seriously ill and were first rushed to Chilgarigi hospital in neighbouring Karnataka. They were later shifted to the government hospital in Narayankhed.
Local MLA Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy visited the hospital and assured the students that strict action would be taken against those responsible. Former BRS MLA M Bhupal Reddy, along with RDO, DEO and other officials, also visited the hospital and hostel premises.
The officials are expected to submit a detailed report on the incident to the District Collector.
