Police said the duo contacted the complainant over WhatsApp with the display picture of his superior at the office and asked him to transfer the amount for a new project.
Believing the message to be genuine and from his Managing Director, the victim transferred the said amount to the provided account. After that he realised that it was a fraud and approached the police.
