Valuables saved for a daughter’s wedding, including 16 tolas of gold and ₹15 lakh cash, were stolen from a home in Nandigama mandal near Hyderabad. Police suspect someone known to the family and are investigating with support from the CLUES team.
Hyderabad: In a shocking theft incident, valuables saved for a daughter’s wedding were stolen from a residence in Mamidipalli village in Nandigama mandal on the suburbs.
The complainant Krishnaiah, had saved as many as 16 tolas of gold and cash of Rs 15 lakh at his home in preparation for his daughter’s marriage.
The crime came to light when a few days ago Krishnaiah received a reminder from the bank regarding a pending loan payment. Upon searching his home, he was shocked to discover that both the cash and gold was missing, police said.
He lodged a complaint with the Nandigama police, who are investigating to identify and nab the thief. Police suspect that someone familiar with the family’s financial preparations may be involved.
