BRS leader Sunke Ravishankar alleged that Telangana Gurukuls were facing neglect under the Congress government, citing incidents of food poisoning, poor maintenance, and lack of facilities. He urged immediate intervention to prevent students from moving to private schools.
Karimnagar: BRS leader and former MLA Sunke Ravishankar alleged that Gurukuls across the State were reeling under severe problems due to the negligence of the Congress government.
Ravishankar, along with local BRS leaders, visited the Gangadhara BC Gurukul on Wednesday and interacted with students to understand the difficulties they were facing.
He said it was unfortunate that students in Gurukuls, government schools and welfare hostels were even dying due to food poisoning. Such incidents, he alleged, were recurring because of lack of maintenance and supervision.
Instead of consulting teachers, educationists and parents, the government was pursuing its own course without addressing ground realities, he charged.
Recalling his visit to the same school last year, Ravishankar said electric wires were hanging dangerously and officials had promised to fix them within a week, but no repair had been taken up so far.
Due to lack of facilities, many students were now planning to shift to private schools, he said, urging the government to immediately address the issues faced by residential schools.
