During a weekend drunken driving check, Cyberabad traffic police caught 405 drivers, including two-, three- and four-wheelers and heavy vehicles. Courts heard 199 cases last week, penalising 188 offenders and sentencing 11 to jail
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad traffic police, during a drunken driving check conducted on Saturday night, caught 405 persons and booked cases against them.
Among those caught are two-wheeler – 292, three-wheeler – 26, four-wheeler -79 and heavy vehicles 8 drivers. Sixteen persons had BAC levels ranging from 301 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100ml.
The highest number of people, 69, were caught by RC Puram police, followed by Medchal – 54 and Shamshabad – 53.
Meanwhile, a local court heard 199 cases of persons who were caught during drunk driving last week and 188 persons were penalised, while 11 persons were sentenced to jail.
