With the Ganesh idol immersion scheduled for September 6, GHMC is speeding up road repairs, barricading and street lighting in Hyderabad. The main procession will begin after the Balapur laddu auction and converge at Hussain Sagar for immersion
Hyderabad: With just three days remaining for the main Ganesh idol immersion procession scheduled on September 6, barricading of roads and street illumination works are proceeding at a brisk pace in the city.
GHMC officials on Wednesday said the main centralised procession will commence after the Balapur Ganesh laddu auction. Once the Balapur Ganesh idol procession starts, other idols will simultaneously begin their procession from their pandals and join the main procession at key points such as Charminar and MJ Market. The procession will then proceed to Hussain Sagar where the idols will be immersed.
GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan on Wednesday visited Balapur Ganesh and inspected the arrangements from there till the GHMC Office at Tank Bund.
The civic body is continuing its road safety drive to repair potholes and damaged roads. Meanwhile, a joint review meeting was held by the police department and Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi to discuss Ganesh idol immersion.
