Hyderabad: 10 youths, including students, detained for consuming marijuana at Shankarpally hostel

Police detained eight students and two local youths at a private university hostel in Shankarpally, Ranga Reddy district, for allegedly consuming marijuana. Around 300 grams of dry marijuana were seized, and police launched a search for the main supplier, now absconding.

Hyderabad: The police detained a group of youngsters for allegedly consuming narcotics at Shankarpally in Ranga Reddy district on the suburb on Thursday.

According to police, on Wednesday night the SOT Rajendranagar team along with Mokila police conducted raids at a private university hostel near Dontanpally.

During the operation, eight students and two local youths were caught while smoking marijuana. Some of them are pursuing B.Tech and Law courses.

Police seized 300 grams of dry marijuana from them.

During questioning, the youths revealed that they were purchasing the substance from a man named Varshit of Kompally. He is currently absconding, and police have launched a search to nab him.
