Hyderabad: Former Sports Minister and ex-MP V Hanumanth Rao donated cricket kits worth about Rs 40,000 to the members of the Amberpet Cricket Club on Sunday.
This was a token gesture to the team which emerged champions in the last season of the HCA Leagues.
Gyaneshwar Goud, secretary, and N Sadguru, organising secretary, were also present.
Hanumanth Rao appreciated the players for their performances and hoped they would continue to do well.
“You all have the infrastructure and the State Government support now. You dream big, care to work really hard to achieve your goals,” he told the players.
“It is important to promote young talent at the grassroots level,” he said, and recalled that it was with this concept that he has been organising the All India Rajiv Gandhi Invitation Tournament every year, in which India fast bowler Mohd Siraj made his first impression before going on to play for the State and the country.
