
Heavy rainfall flooded the Balamrai pump house in Secunderabad Cantonment, disrupting water supply to nearly one lakh residents. SCB officials said supply would remain suspended for two days, with tankers deployed as restoration efforts continue. The pump house last failed in 2020.
Hyderabad: Heavy rainfall on Wednesday night has resulted in flooding at the Balamrai water pump house premises, rendering the pumps inoperable. Nearly one lakh people will be affected due to the affected water supply.
Officials from the Secunderabad Cantonment Board‘s water wing visited the Balamrai Pump House on Thursday, assessed the situation, and announced disruptions in the water supply.
“Consequently, there will be no water supply for the next two days in areas served by the Balamrai pump house, including Picket, Mudfort, and Balamrai,” according to SCB water wing superintendent S Raj Kumar.
