The complainant, who came from Odisha on September 22 for work, alleged that the couple frequently abused her, denied her food, and insulted her.
On Monday, when she tried to record their abusive behaviour, David allegedly smashed her phone and attempted to assault her, forcing her to flee.
Based on her complaint, a case has been registered under sections relating to assault, intimidation, and outraging the modesty of a woman.
The Film Nagar police are expected to ask the couple to appear for questioning.
