Jagtial: Relatives of Sreepada Naresh, whose body has been lying unclaimed at a Bahrain mortuary for the past five years, have appealed to the State government to bring his mortal remains back to India.
A representation in this regard was submitted at the CM Pravasi Prajavani in Hyderabad on Tuesday. A native of Metpally town, Naresh migrated to Bahrain in search of employment in July 2007 and joined Al Hamad Construction & Development Company in Manama.
He initially worked as a construction labourer and later as a Bobcat operator and diesel mechanic. After quitting the company, Naresh became an undocumented worker (Khallih yawalli). He reportedly continued to stay in Bahrain as an overstayer after his passport expired ten years ago.
Naresh was the adopted son of Sreepada Narsaiah and Laxmi, both of whom are no more. His wife Latha currently lives with her parents. After his sudden death five years ago, his body has remained in Bahrain as no one came forward to claim it.
Recently, one of Naresh’s biological relatives, Dharmapuri Anand, approached Gulf migrants’ rights activist Bokkenapally Nagaraju, who submitted a petition to the officials through CM Pravasi Prajavani during the programme.
