The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Adibatla Municipal Office Town Planning Officer B. Varaprasad for allegedly demanding and accepting a Rs 75,000 bribe to process a G+4 building permit. He was caught red-handed while receiving the money through his assistant.
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught B Varaprasad, the Town Planning Officer at Adibatla Municipal Office, on charges of demanding and accepting a bribe on Thursday.
ACB officials said Varaprasad allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 75,000 from the complainant for processing and issuing G+4 building construction permit.
He was caught while accepting the bribe amount in his office through his assistant V Vamshi Krishna, an outsourcing employee. The bribe amount was recovered from Krishna.
Both were arrested and produced before the ACB for remand in judicial custody.
