Hyderabad: Justice B. Vijay Sen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday heard the contempt petition filed by Sandhya Hotels Private Limited concerning alleged unauthorised demolition work by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).
The hearing followed a lunch-motion plea moved by Sandhya Hotels on Monday, where the Court had granted an interim status quo on the demolition activity on the property. During the hearing, the Standing Counsel appearing for HYDRAA once again submitted a request for time to file a counter-affidavit detailing HYDRAA’s justification for the demolition work.
The agency maintained that its action was confined only to removing encroachments on the road network within the FCI (Fertilizers Corporation of India) layout. The Court acceded to the request for filing the counter and adjourned the hearing for one week.
