Hyderabad: A final-year MBBS student was killed and her father seriously injured in a road accident in Hayathnagar on the city suburb on Monday morning.
According to police, Aishwarya was crossing the road along with her father, Pandu, near the RTC Colony in Hayathnagar when a speeding car rammed into them.
Both suffered severe injuries in the impact. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the victims to a nearby private hospital.
However, doctors declared Aishwarya brought dead. Her father, who suffered serious injuries, was later shifted to another hospital for advanced treatment.
The body was sent to Osmania General Hospital for an autopsy. The Hayathnagar police have registered a case and took up investigation. Efforts are on to trace the car and ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
