Sangareddy: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths have nabbed the Regional Inspection Officer of Intermediate Education, Sangareddy, while he was accepting Rs 20,000 from the management of a junior college. The RIO R Govindaram inspected a junior college in Sangareddy recently.
When he demanded Rs 50,000 bribe for submitting a positive report to the college, the management had given him Rs 30,000 in the first instalment. When the RIO called the management and insisted for the payment of remaining Rs 20,000, the management approached the ACB officials who laid a trap.
The ACB sleuths led by Medak DSP Sudharshan Reddy nabbed Govindaram while he was accepting the Rs 20,000 from the management on Wednesday at his office in Sangareddy. The RIO will be produced in the court by today evening. Further investigation is on.
