Congress MPs and MLCs were scheduled to visit a private farmhouse in Janwada on Saturday to check its land details, amid heightened tension and heavy police deployment. The owner claimed ownership and said the property had been leased to KTR.
Hyderabad: After visiting Janwada, Congress MP from Nagarkurnool Mallu Ravi alleged that the farmhouse had been constructed over a stormwater drain and without the necessary permissions. The Nagarkurnool MP was accompanied by Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas, MLC Balmoori Venkat and other MPs, MLCs and MLAs.
Speaking on the occasion, Mallu Ravi said there was a need for a comprehensive inquiry into whether the farmhouse had obtained the necessary construction permissions and how it was allowed to come up over a nala.
Congress leaders pointed out the regulations governing construction on lands falling under GO 111. They also recalled the case previously registered against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the flying of a drone over the Janwada farmhouse.
They said the purpose of their visit was to bring the facts concerning the Janwada land and its structures before the public.
