Bangladeshi woman alleges sexual assault by husband, three others in Kanchanbagh

An 18-year-old Bangladeshi woman has accused her husband and three of his friends of sexually assaulting and torturing her in Hyderabad’s Kanchanbagh area. The victim alleged that she was confined in a house and subjected to abuse by the accused.

Hyderabad: The Kanchanbagh police have arrested three Myanmar nationals for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman repeatedly after confining her in a room at Hafeez Baba Nagar.

The arrested men have been identified as Noor Kamal, Ahmed Mujeeb and Zia-ur-Rehman alias Ibrahim. The alleged prime suspect, Mohammed Fayaz, is absconding.

According to the police, the victim came to Hyderabad in May 2026 with Fayaz, who had allegedly promised to marry her. They reportedly got married in the presence of a Qazi and began living in a rented house at Hafeez Baba Nagar.

The woman alleged that Fayaz later brought his three associates to stay in the house. Whenever he went out, he allegedly locked the house from outside, leaving her with the three men, who sexually assaulted her repeatedly against her will. They also allegedly threatened her with serious consequences if she revealed the incidents to anyone.

The incident came to light last week when the house owner visited the premises to collect rent and broke open the lock after finding the house locked from outside. The woman subsequently contacted her family and moved to a relative’s house in Royal Colony, Balapur.

On a complaint, the police registered a case under various Sections of BNS Act. The three suspects were arrested and sent them to judicial remand.
