Abhishek Bachchan admits it was challenging to play his role in Breathe 2, says ‘it does hit home’

Abhishek Bacchan was recently present at the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2022. The actor was joined by the cast of Breathe: Into The Shadows 2 – Amit Sadh, Saiyami Kher and Naveen Kasturia. Director Mayank Sharma was also present at the event. They were all a part of the session called Breathing New Life Into The crime thriller. During the session, Abhishek was asked how emotionally challenging it was for him to play his character in the series. He plays the role of Dr Avinash Sabharwal.

ABHISHEK BACHCHAN ON HIS CHARACTER

At the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2022, Abhishek admitted that it was challenging for him to play his role in Breathe: Into The Shadows 2.

“It is immensely difficult. Acting is difficult. As good as we think we are, at the end of the day, you dwell into personal experiences and emotions to try and replicate them in a scene. And keeping that in mind, it becomes very difficult being a parent of a daughter [Aaradhya Bachchan]. And in Breathe 2, I have a daughter as well, for whom I do all this. Obviously, there is a lot of resonance. It does hit home a bit. And Mayank doesn’t shy away from reminding you of your personal life, in order to get the correct emotion for a scene,” he said.

WHAT AMITABH BACHCHAN TOLD ABHISHEK

Abhishek further went down memory lane and revealed what his father Amitabh Bachchan told him at the beginning of his career. “When I was starting my career, my father once famously told me and I had a similar question about what one should be doing. He told me, ‘There are no subtitles saying, please excuse us, bad performers because he was having a bad day.’ The audience doesn’t care. At the end of the day, you have to disconvince them of the emotion that you are trying to convince them of at that point in time,” he revealed.

Breathe: Into The Shadows 2 will stream on Amazon Prime Video on November 9, 2022.
