Demand Rs 20,000 from one of the office employees to prepare his pending sick leave bills
PEDDAPALLI: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials nabbed two Irrigation officials while allegedly accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe from one of their office staff in the Executive Engineer (Irrigation) Division-6 office, Sultanabad, on Wednesday.
According to the ACB, office superintendent Dupala Sridhar Babu demanded Rs 20,000 from one of the office employees Ijaz to prepare his pending sick leave (Half Pay Leave) bills of 88 days. Not inclined to pay a bribe, Ijaz approached the ACB, who then trapped senior assistant Mahadevuni Suresh while accepting Rs 20,000 from the complainant on behalf of Sridhar Babu in the office.
ACB officials took both of them into custody and produced them before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Karimnagar.
