Allu Arjun starrer AA22’s first look poster sparks plagiarism row online

Social media users shared side-by-side comparisons, questioning why Indian filmmakers with immense talent still resort to copying.
Hyderabad: On Allu Arjun’s birthday, Sun Pictures officially announced his highly anticipated film with Tamil director Atlee. The announcement video quickly went viral, teasing a sci-fi action film with top Hollywood VFX names like James Madigan (Iron Man 2), Mike Elizalde, and Oscar-winner Justin Raleigh praising the script’s uniqueness and creative potential.
However, the buzz took a sharp turn after the first-look poster was released. Many X users pointed out striking similarities between this poster and that of Dune, starring Timothée Chalamet. Another poster also drew comparisons to Interstellar, with fans calling out Atlee for “copying” and “lacking originality.”
Social media users shared side-by-side comparisons, questioning why Indian filmmakers with immense talent still resort to copying. Despite the backlash, neither Allu Arjun, Atlee, nor the producers have responded yet.
Sun Pictures had captioned their post, “The mAAss has just begun! 6M+ cumulative views for #AA22xA6. A Magnum Opus from Sun Pictures.” But for now, the hype remains more about the poster than the film itself
