Anti-Corruption Bureau nabs mandal surveyor and chainman in Rs 3 lakh bribe case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught two employees of the Tahsildar Secunderabad mandal office red-handed while accepting a bribe. The duo were found to have demanded a bribe of Rs. 3 lakh from a property owner.

Hyderabad: Two employees of the Tahsildar Secunderabad mandal office were caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Tuesday when they demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 1,00,000.

According to the ACB officials, Kaluva Kiran Kumar, mandal surveyor and Mekala Bhaskar, chainman, both working at the Tahsildar Secunderabad mandal office, had demanded the bribe of Rs. 3 lakh. The bribe amount was demanded for not taking any adverse action on the notice issued against a property.

The ACB trapped both of them on Tuesday when they accepted the first instalment of Rs. 1 lakh. Both the persons are arrested and will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nampally.
