‘Arrange a Girl…’: Under Pressure to Step Down, Brij Bhushan Singh Levels BIG Allegations Against Bajrang Punia

Amid ongoing protests against him, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh claimed that wrestler Bajrang Punia was heard asking to “arrange a girl” to frame him. “I have given the audio to committee where Bajrang Punia is asking to arrange a girl to frame me,” he asserted.

The WFI president’s comments come a day after he said that he will resign as a member of the Parliament if PM Narendra Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah Shah or JP Nadda, who is the President of BJP, asks him to step down. A six-time MP, Brij Bhushan said that he hasn’t talked to PM Modi about the ongoing charges against him.

He also alleged that all wrestling activity has come to a standstill in the the last four months due to the protests. “I say hang me, but don’t stop wrestling activity; don’t play with the future of children. Allow the cadet nationals to take place, whosoever organises it…”, he added.

‘Kya Maine Shilajit Ki Roti Khayi Hai…’

During a recent interview with a leading Hindi news channel, Singh dismissed all allegations and said that the wrestlers who are protesting against him are ‘victims’ and their movement is ‘politically motivated’.

When the anchor of the channel asked him to step down from his post, Brij Bhushan lost his cool on camera and asked, “Earlier, they were saying that I had sexually abused 100 children. Then they started saying that it happened to 1,000 children. Did I eat roti made of Shilajit?”

“Two FIRs have been registered at Connaught Place police station. The first one pertains to allegations levelled by a minor victim which is registered under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act along with sections concerning outraging of modesty etc,” DCP (New Delhi) Pranav Tayal said. The second FIR, Tayal said, was registered to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the allegations by the adult complainants under the relevant sections.
