Nalgonda: Preemptive arrests made by the police ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Huzurnagar scheduled for Sunday marred the Ugadi festivities across Nalgonda and Suryapet districts.
Opposition leaders and activists from various organisations were detained in anticipation of protests against the failures of the Revanth Reddy government.
The morning arrests triggered tensions across the district. MRPS leaders in Kattangur and Congress rebels and opposition leaders throughout the Huzurnagar constituency were taken into custody, citing security concerns during the Chief Minister’s visit.
