Hyderabad: Most of the cars in the automobile showroom were damaged in the fire which occurred at Madhapur on Thursday night. Ranga Reddy Fire Safety Officer Karim said a distress call was received at the fire station at around 10 pm.
Fire officials immediately sent a fire engine to the showroom. “It is not clear from where the fire started. There were more than 15 cars in the showroom Most of them have burnt down, ” he said.
The fire spread due to the presence of plastic materials and thermocol and fabric items. The entire showroom was burnt down.
“We first prevented the fire from spreading to the shops and hotels on all sides of the showroom. There is another automobile showroom beside it, ” the official said.
We have evacuated 100 people from nearby hotels, he added. The situation is currently under control. It is not clear how much property was damaged.
