ANANTAPUR: Despite speculations and repeated trolling on social media over a possible arrest, Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy was busy with his programmes in Pulivendula assembly segment on Sunday.
The MP arrived in Pulivendula from Hyderabad and took part in the Gadapa Gadapaku programme in Lingala mandal in YSR Kadapa district. As CBI teams were also present in Pulivendula as part of their investigations in the Viveka murder case, there was palpable anxiety in Pulivendula and other parts of Kadapa district.
Avinash Reddy accompanied by a crowd of party cadres from Pulivendula participated in state government’s official programme Gadapa Gadapaku in Lingala mandal of Pulivendula segment. A CBI sub inspector visited ‘approver’ Dastagiri’s house a few days ago it was speculated that a CBI team would visit the residence of Dastagiri on Sunday, sources said.
Avinash recently conducted a Praja Darbar at the CM’s camp office in Pulivendula. Several YSRC MLAs and leaders extended their support to Avinash and alleged thatTD leaders from Kadapa were conspiring against the MP.
Since the TS high court posted Avinash Reddy’s anticipatory bail plea for hearing in June first week, CBI can now act on its own.
The four-year-long Vivekanda Reddy murder case continued to have twists after the slain leader’s daughter Sunitha targeted the Kadapa MP and alleged that he was having a role in the conspiracy behind the murder. Avinash, in turn, referred to the alleged role of Sunitha’s husband Rajasekhar Reddy and their family members in the brutal killing of Vivekananda.
Avinash Reddy, who continued to insist that he had no role in the murder accused Sunitha’s family of likely involvement, saying they had financial and property-related disputes pertaining to the second marriage of Viveka, which “might have led to a murder for gain.”
Avinash, in his video, found the CBI probe one- sided and aimed at defaming him and his father. He alleged that Sunitha wanted to protect her husband in the case.
“It was very clear that documents were taken away from the house and also a letter was kept secret. When the MP election campaign was going on and Viveka was campaigning for me, how can I engaged in a conspiracy for the MP seat,” asked Avinash.
He recalled that the CBI never took information from YSRC MLA candidate Raghurami Reddy for whom Vivekanda Reddy had campaigned.
Avinash Reddy suspected that Erra Gangi Reddy and his team was provoked by Rajasekhar Reddy to eliminate Vivekananda Reddy as there had been differences between them over financial transactions, business and also extra marital affairs. “A group of TD leaders in BJP and some TD leaders with political motives are targeting us,” he alleged.
BJP leaders CM Ramesh and Adinarayana Reddy and TD leaders including party president Chandrababu Naidu have continued making statements about Avinash’s alleged role in the murder. Sunitha’s counsel was strongly countering Avinash Reddy in all petitions pertaining to the murder case.
