BJP united, BRS-Cong bid to create gulf in party will fail: Kishan

Union minister G. Kishan Reddy.

HYDERABAD: There is an ongoing campaign in Telangana state to malign the BJP and to make it appear as if the party lacks unity, Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said on Wednesday. Answering questions at a press meet in New Delhi, Kishan Reddy said all the talk about some BJP leaders being upset and considering leaving the party is the result of a BRS attempt, along with Congress, to split opposition parties. “KCR wants the Congress to become stronger,” he said, adding that “KCR fears that BJP is getting stronger in Telangana.”

He made it clear that no leader from the Telangana BJP was going to leave the party. This is just talk being created to sow confusion in the party and will not yield the desired results for the BRS, he said.

On the expectations of leaders from other parties joining the BJP and this exercise not going anywhere, Kishan Reddy said, “If anyone thinks that a party will become strong only if leaders from other parties join it, they are wrong. What is important is that people of Telangana have decided that the current family rule, the corrupt rule in the state must go. The leadership will emerge from the people, not just through others joining the party.”
