Blackpink’s agency backs Jennie after leaked photos controversy; takes legal action against culprit
After fans expressed their concerns regarding the invasion of privacy of Blackpink member Jennie, the group’s agency, YG Entertainment has now finally responded to the calls. The idol has been the target of privacy invasions multiple times in the last few months.
From her alleged dating rumours with BTS’ V which went way too off the rails in the past few weeks to her leaked pics, there have been multiple cases like this. With such incidents happening way too often, BLINKs showed their concern for the singer and asked the group’s label to take an action.
Now, on Oct 3, YG Entertainment released a statement informing about the action they have taken against the leaker. They informed that the matter has been taken to the police and a case was also registered against the original distributor of Jennie‘s personal photos.
“We are announcing that we have officially commissioned the police to investigate the person who first distributed BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s personal photos. YG has been continuously monitoring the content and submitted a complaint in September after collecting information,” read the statement.
It was stated that the agency will be refraining from commenting or expressing their position so as to minimize further damage.
“However, we felt a sense of responsibility that it was no longer possible to condone the mass spread of rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harrassment, and privacy violations that were coming with the personal photographs,” it added.
Strong legal action is being taken against the posts that harm the reputation of the artist and there will be no place for any leniency to rectify the situation. The leaker might be subjected to legal punishment based on the law.
