British Deputy High Commission celebrate coronation of King Charles III

HYDERABAD: The British Deputy High Commission Hyderabad hosted a screening of the coronation of King Charles III at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, with a live feed of the proceedings from Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Gareth Wynn Owen, Deputy High Commissioner to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh said, “The Coronation of Their Majesties The King and Queen Consort will be celebrated across the UK, in 14 Realms, throughout the Commonwealth and around the world. Thanks to dear friends of the United Kingdom for joining this historic event, in a wonderful setting which hosted the King’s great grandfather nearly 100 years ago.”
A wide array of guests from the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, diplomatic corps and leaders from business, arts, culture and sports fields attended the event and raised a toast to the King.
The Coronation on May 6 was a significant cultural event for the United Kingdom, with heads of state from around the globe attending the coronation ceremony, the first since Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in June 1953. King Charles III was crowned King of the UK and 14 other independent Realms of which he is also Head of State.
