BRS MLAs hit back at Oppn on ORR, GO 111 allegations

HYDERABAD: Facing political heat over the withdrawal of GO 111 and awarding the ORR contract to IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd, BRS MLAs K.P. Vivekanand and D. Sudheer Reddy on Thursday hit back at TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy and BJP MLA M. Raghunandan Rao for levelling allegations against Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and minister K.T. Rama Rao.

Addressing media persons at the BRS office, Quthbullapur MLA Vivekanand said: “The tender clauses are very much in the public domain. There is no clause in the contract which mandates the company to deposit 10 per cent as advance. Without verifying the facts, Revanth Reddy has levelled baseless allegations against the CM and KTR. We demand that Revanth Reddy tender unconditional apologies for making false allegations.”

He came down heavily on Raghunandan Rao for complaining to central agencies about the ORR lease, claiming that the CBI, ED and I-T departments have become the Modi government’s forces to harass opposition parties.

LB Nagar MLA Sudheer Reddy said that the state government scrapped GO 111 in response to a public demand based on the resolutions passed by local bodies in 84 villages there. He called upon the Opposition to visit the affected villages to see for themselves how villagers were deprived of any development in the past three decades, despite being closer to Hyderabad.

Sudheer Reddy said BJP “failed to learn its lesson” from the Karnataka poll loss, while also telling Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to focus on her constitutional duties, rather than making political comments to “appease her BJP bosses”.
