Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS legislator Vemula Prashanth Reddy condemned derogatory remarks made by BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind against BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said Arvind’s personal insults against Chandrashekhar Rao and his age were uncalled for, indicating the MP’s immaturity and arrogance.
In a statement, Prashanth Reddy said Arvind lacked the stature or experience to belittle a statesman like Chandrashekhar Rao, who devoted over five decades to public service and led the historic Telangana movement, by putting his life at risk. “If Arvind considers 71-year-old Chandrashekhar Rao as an old man, what should one call 74-year-old Narendra Modi?” he asked.
The former Minister ridiculed Arvind over his zero contribution for development of Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency, despite getting elected twice. He said Arvind was indulging in derogatory remarks, to mask his failures.
“Confusing Banakacherla with ‘Janakacharla’ and speaking about irrigation without any knowledge on the issue, have only exposed his immaturity and lack of knowledge,” he added.
He reminded the Nizamabad MP that the latter became MP by riding on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name, but not on his merit or public acceptance. He suggested that the BJP MPs from Telangana stop targeting BRS to win over Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and instead, fight to protect Telangana’s interests.
