He pointed out that the government has announced a three-tier security plan for the pageant but questioned the necessity of such measures when essential services must continue in a war-like atmosphere
Hyderabad: Praising the Indian Army’s dedication to national defense, BRS leader and whip KP Vivekananda on Saturday stated that the entire country was standing in solidarity with its defense services. Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan, he came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his focus on a beauty pageant while the nation was facing heightened security issues.
He paid tribute to Murali Nayak, an Andhra Pradesh soldier who was killed in a Pakistani attack. Vivekananda clarified that BRS was not opposed to such events but insisted they should be conducted in a peaceful environment, not during a time of military tensions.
He pointed out that the government has announced a three-tier security plan for the pageant but questioned the necessity of such measures when essential services must continue in a war-like atmosphere.
The BRS leader accused Revanth Reddy of mismanaging the State, likening Telangana’s governance to a reckless gamble. He expressed concerns over rising essential commodity prices and the closure of airports and ports, which have left citizens anxious. He also criticized the CM for neglecting students stranded in Punjab and Srinagar, questioning whether the government had any plans to assist them.
Vivekananda further condemned the suspension of operation Kagar and the withdrawal of forces from Karregutta hills, calling it a strategic failure. He accused the Chief Minister of prioritizing the beauty pageants over national security. He stated that while the country rallies in support of the military, Revanth Reddy remains occupied with fashion events.
