BRS will stage protest in front of Rahul Gandhi’s house if loan waiver not given to farmers, says Harish

Harish Rao warned that if the Congress government failed to provide loan waiver amount to all the farmers, BRS leaders and workers would take the fight to Delhi and stage a protest in front of Gandhi’s residence

Mahabubabad: Accusing the Congress party of deceiving farmers, former minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao announced that if the loan waiver was not implemented soon, the BRS party would stage a protest outside senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s residence after Dussehra.

Addressing a large gathering of farmers protest in Thorrur, Harish Rao warned that if the Congress government failed to provide loan waiver amount to all the farmers, BRS leaders and workers would take the fight to Delhi and stage a protest in front of Gandhi’s residence. “We will take our fight to Delhi and ensure that this government fulfil its promises. Farmers should not lose hope. BRS will stand by them until justice is served,” Harish Rao assured.

Harish Rao called upon the farmers of Telangana to confront their local MLAs and ministers about the unfulfilled promises. “The BRS party urges farmers to question those in power. Demand answers about crop procurement, loan waivers, and job creation guarantees. The government cannot continue to avoid accountability,”he said.

The senior BRS leader launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing it of failing to deliver on its promises to the farmers and people of Telangana during the last 10 months in power. “Revanth Reddy made tall promises to the farmers, assuring them that his first signature would be on the farm loan waiver. But what we have seen are shifting deadlines. First December 9, then August 15 and yet, nothing has been done. The CM even swore on sacred places like Komaravelli Mallanna, Yadadri, Bhadrachalam, and Sammakka Saralamma, but its clear now that he is not a leader but a deceiver,”he alleged.

Highlighting the government’s failure to implement key welfare schemes, including Rythu Bandhu, loan waivers, pensions, and the Mahalakshmi scheme, he said 4,314 farmers in Palakurthi Mandal alone were still waiting for their loans to be waived.

“Even Agriculture Minister Thummala admitted that out of the 22 lakh farmers who were supposed to benefit from the loan waiver, many have not received any relief. If the loan waiver were truly complete, why were so many farmers still protesting across the State? he asked.

“Revanth Reddy had promised a bonus for all types of crops, but now he is only giving it for fine varieties of rice. This is another example of his deceit,”he alleged.
