Budget will pave way for self-reliant Uttarakhand: State BJP chief
Uttarakhand BJP president Mahendra Bhatt on Wednesday welcomed the budget for 2023-24, saying it will pave the way for a self-reliant state.
It will create self-employment opportunities for the youth, Bhatt said in a statement here.
“With its emphasis on self-employment, tourism, agriculture and women, the budget will steer Uttarakhand on the path of becoming a self-reliant and a leading state of this decade,” he said.
An annual budget of Rs 77,407.08 crore for 2023-24 was presented in the Uttarakhand Assembly in Gairsain on Wednesday with focus on the development of education and health infrastructure, youth, women and children welfare.
The BJP president also expressed satisfaction over the allocation of Rs 1,000 crore for land subsidence-hit Joshimath and other such places.
“By allocating Rs 1,000 crore for Joshimath, the state government has once again proved that it can do anything to bring relief to the affected people,” Bhatt said.
