Kalatapasvi K Viswanath passes away at 92
Legendary film director K Viswanath, who helmed Telugu classic Sankarabharanam, passed away due to age-related illness on Thursday night at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad. He was 92. Viswanath, who was unwell for the last few days, is survived by two sons and a daughter. Born on February 19, 1930, at Pedapulivarru in Guntur district, he debuted as a director in 1965 with Aatma Gowravam. He went on to direct more than 50 movies. He also acted in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films. Fondly called Kalatapasvi, the veteran filmmaker received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2016 and was conferred the Padma Shri in 1992. SS Rajamouli’s RRR continues to shatter box office records in Japan, here’s how much it has earned so far
SS Rajamouli’s RRR continues to achieve new milestones in Japan. The film, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, has emerged as a blockbuster in Japan, and more IMAX screens have been added, leading to a surge in admissions, according a report in Variety. Tollywood actor Sudheer Varma dies by suicide
Tollywood actor Sudheer Varma has died, allegedly by suicide. He reportedly consumed poison on January 18 at Kondapur in Hyderabad in a bid to end his life. His family members who noticed it, rushed him to a hospital nearby where treatment was initiated even while a medico legal case was registered. On the advice of his relatives, Sudheer was shifted to a private hospital here on January 20 where he breathed his last on Monday morning.
