Munugode bypoll: Celebrations begin at Telangana Bhavan as TRS’s victory become certain
Hyderabad: Telangana Bhavan, the State headquarters of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (Bharat Rashtra Samithi), wore a festive look on Sunday as the TRS cadre broke into celebrations as the victory of the party candidate K Prabhakar Reddy in the Munugode bypoll results, became certain. Prabhakar Reddy was leading by over 6,800 votes at the end of the 12th round of counting of results A large number of TRS activists congregated at Telangana Bhavan as they danced to drum-beats, burst crackers and distributed sweets, terming the victory as the stepping stone for the party’s national entry. ‘TRS goons attacked us, distributed money’: BJP cries foul after losing Telangana’s Munugode
After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost Telagana’s Munugode bypoll to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) by over 10,000 votes, the saffron camp cried foul alleging attack by TRS goons. The party candidate not only termed TRS win a ‘fake victory’ but also alleged that his party workers were attacked and threatened by the ruling party. Hyderabad: Cordon and search held in Chaderghat, 10 held
Hyderabad: A cordon and search operation was conducted at Padmanagar in Chaderghat on Sunday. Around 500 policemen participated in the operation. The police checked the houses in the colony and took into custody 10 suspects for questioning. The police seized 45 bikes as owners failed to show documents, seven LPG cylinders used in illegal sale and refill, 65 liquor bottles after raiding a belt shop and adulterated oil cans from a shop. Munugode Bypoll: TRS maintains lead in tight race
Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) continued to maintain a lead over the Bharataiya Janata Party (BJP) at the end of sixth round of counting of votes in Munugode Assembly by-election. In a neck and neck race, TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy was leading by 2,169 votes against his nearest rival K. Rajagopal Reddy. With nine more rounds to go, leaders of both the parties were keeping their fingers crossed over the outcome in the crucial by-election, seen by many as a semifinal ahead of next year’s Assembly polls. Hyderabad: Van filled with Rs 31 lakh cash found abandoned
Hyderabad: Hours after the driver of a cash management company allegedly fled with the vehicle containing cash of Rs.31 lakh at Attapur in Rajendranagar on Thursday, the police recovered the vehicle abandoned at Kismathpur Bridge. However, the driver took away cash of Rs.3 lakh, leaving the remaining currency in the vehicle itself. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when the company staff came to a bank ATM to refill the cash dispensing machine. Hyderabad: 12-year-old girl dies while burning crackers on Diwali
A 12 year-old girl who sustained burns while lighting crackers on Diwali passed away while undergoing treatment Wednesday night. According to the police, the victim G Bhagya Sree, a resident of Kachiguda, stayed along with her parents. On Deepavali day, the girl was lighting crackers near the house and her clothes accidentally caught fire.
