      Hyderabad: Formula E race track to be ready by November-end

      Hyderabad: Ahead of the Formula E race in the city next year, Urban Development Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar on Wednesday inspected the ongoing works undertaken by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). According to the official, the race track will be ready by the end of November. Hyderabad will be the first city in the country to host Formula E Race with top names in the league taking part.       Hyderabad cops mandates ‘Anti-Drug Committees’ in all colleges

      With an aim to battle the menace of drugs vigorously, the Hyderabad police on Monday issued a notification making it mandatory to constitute ‘Anti-Drug Committees’ in all colleges. Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, CV Anand on Monday said that the anti-drug committees in higher educational institutions must comprise of a minimum of five members drawn from faculty and students, who will be tasked to prevent drug abuse in the campus. “It would be done by equipping young people with the necessary life skills that will enable them to deal with different situations without turning to drugs,” he said.       Hyderabad airport issues advisory for passengers amid Bharat Jodo Yatra

      The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has advised passengers to plan their commute from the city to the airport in advance till November 2 in view of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. “Passengers are requested to plan their commute from the city to the airport well in advance during the period of October 30 to November 2 in view of Bharat Jodo Yatra for which traffic diversions have been announced by the traffic police,” RGIA stated in its advisory. ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ will continue in the State till November 7 with a one-day break on November 4.
