TRS district presidents urge CM KCR to take a plunge into national politics
Hyderabad: There is an overwhelming response to the news reports about Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao entry into national politics soon. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) district presidents on Friday urged him to take the plunge and take up the mantle to lead another movement to free the nation from the anti-people rule of the BJP at the Centre. Balapur Ganesh: Laddu auction fetches record Rs.24.6 lakh
Hyderabad: Much beyond expectations of the organisers, the 21-kg laddu prasadam of Balapur Ganesh fetched a record Rs. 24.6 lakh in the auction held here on Friday. V Laxma Reddy, a local successfully bid for the laddu. This bid was the highest in the last 28 years after it was first auctioned in 1994. The Balapur Utsav Samithi anticipated Rs.20 lakh for the laddu in the auction. Last year, the successful bid for Rs 18.90 lakh was made by two partners, Andhra Pradesh MLC Ramesh Yadav and Abacus Overseas Education Pvt Ltd COO Marri Shashank Reddy. Food delivery executive attacks customer in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A food delivery executive allegedly stabbed a customer who ordered food at an apartment in Gachibowli, Hyderabad on Thursday night. Sources said there was a fight between the food delivery executive and the customer on an unknown issue, after which the executive attacked the customer, Aditya reportedly with a sharp object. Aditya, who was injured in the knife attack, was shifted to a private hospital in Gachibowli. The food delivery executive was also injured. The Gachibowli police are investigating the case. They are examining the CCTV footage.

Telangana student bags all India 5th rank in NEET UG 2022
Errabelly Sidharth Rao of Telangana has bagged all India 5th rank in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2022 results which were announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday. He obtained 711 marks and a percentile score of 99.9997166. A total of four students including Rao have secured ranks under 50 from the State. Other candidates from Telangana were Chappidi Lakshmi Charitha (all India 37th rank), Kachana Jeevan Kumar Reddy (41st rank) and Vurum Aadhithi (50th rank). Around Rs 50cr spent on KCR’s Pragathi Bhavan till date: RTI
Hyderabad: The total expenditure for the construction of Pragathi Bhavan is almost Rs 50 crores, an RTI response revealed on Wednesday. The Pragathi Bhavan, located in Begumpet, is the official residence of the state chief minister. In a response to a Right to Information (RTI) query filed by Hyderabad-based activist Robin Zaccheus, the public relations officer of the roads and buildings department of the Telangana government stated that the total expenditure on Pragathi Bhavan, since its construction, adds up to a total of Rs 49,84,14,145. Hyderabad: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi members are continuing their protest at the Baheti Bhavan the head office of the committee to protest against the alleged failure of the government to allow the immersion of Ganesh idols at Hussainsagar. The members started their strike on Tuesday afternoon after they were taken into preventive custody by the Ramgopalpet police while they took out a bike rally to Tank Bund. Telangana reports 152 new COVID-19 cases
Hyderabad: Telangana on Wednesday recorded 152 new COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 8,35,489. Hyderabad district reported the highest number of cases with 60. A health department bulletin said 145 people recuperated from the infection raising the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 8,30,367. The recovery rate stood at 99.39 percent. No fresh fatality occurred due to the infectious disease and the death toll continued to be 4,111. The bulletin said 12,820 samples were tested on Wednesday. The number of active cases was 1,011, it said.
