GHMC halts weekly Prajavani meet due to Jubilee Hills bypoll preparations
The GHMC and Hyderabad District authorities have temporarily suspended the Prajavani public grievance programme due to the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. The programme, held every Monday, will resume after the election results are announced on 14 November. Hyderabad: Authorities of the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) and Hyderabad district have cancelled Prajavani, a programme organised every Monday to receive grievances from petitioners, in the wake of upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. “The Prajavani programme held every Monday at the Hyderabad Collectorate is temporarily cancelled,” announced Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari. The election notification is set to be released on 13 October, with polling on 11 November and results on 14 November. Hyderabad: 35-year-old ends life in Falaknuma
A plumber, Mohammed Shadab (35), was found dead at his house in Falaknuma, reportedly over family issues. TGSPDCL engineer held for Rs 15,000 bribe in Secunderabad

The incident occurred in Lalaguda, Secunderabad. Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials nabbed B Sudhakar Reddy, a Sub-Engineer of TGSPDCL in the Lalaguda section in Secunderabad for demanding and accepting a bribe on Friday. ACB officials said Sudhakar Reddy demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 15,000 from the complainant for processing the file to upgrade from single-phase meters to three-phase meters, along with the preparation of the estimation copy for the installation of an electric transformer. Engineering student ends life in Petbasheerabad hostel, police begin probe
A 19-year-old BTech student from Andhra Pradesh was found dead in his hostel room in Petbasheerabad, Hyderabad. The student allegedly died by suicide. Hostel staff discovered the body and informed authorities. Hyderabad: A 19-year-old engineering student died by suicide in his college hostel in Petbasheerabad on Thursday. The student, Leela Naga Vinay Durga, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was studying BTech first-year in a private engineering college and was staying at a college hostel. He died by suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan in the hostel room. He was found dead by the hostel staff, who alerted the hostel authorities and the police. The Petbasheerabad police are investigating.The reason for the suicide is not known yet.
