Despite heavy monsoon rains, Hyderabad’s groundwater levels dipped by 1–3 metres in several areas, according to the Ground Water Department. Officials blame poor percolation, illegal borewells and rapid urbanisation, warning of a likely water crisis in summer if trends continue. Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has identified five unqualified practitioners running clinics in Hyderabad’s Amberpet and Saroornagar. These individuals, holding non-MBBS degrees, were found prescribing allopathic medicines and administering injections illegally. Hyderabad: The inspecting teams of Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) have detected a total of 5 quacks (unqualified medical practitioners) who were operating clinics and providing allopathy prescriptions to vulnerable patients in Amberpet and Saroornagar.
