Over 700 more urban health wellness centres to come up in Uttar Pradesh
People in Uttar Pradesh would soon be able to get medical consultancy and medicine near their homes with additional over 700 urban health and wellness centres (UHWCs) set to come up across the state in phases. “The process has begun. We have identified the places where UHWCs will be opened and we will issue advertisement to hire places in those areas,” said district health education officer, Lucknow, Yogesh Raghuvanshi. As many as 108 urban health and wellness centres will be opened in Lucknow in phases. At these centres, 14 diagnostic facilities will be provided to patients. Poor quality sleep may put you at high glaucoma risk
New Delhi: Poor quality sleep, including too much or too little shut eye, daytime sleepiness, and snoring, may be linked to a heightened risk of developing irreversible sight loss (glaucoma), UK-based researchers have warned in a study published in the open access journal BMJ Open. Those with glaucoma tended to be older and more likely to be male, an ever smoker, and to have high blood pressure or diabetes than those who weren’t diagnosed with the disease, the findings showed.
