Mumbai: Lifestyle choices, increased stress levels, lack of sleep, nutritious food and exercise are primary causes of the rise in cases of heart attacks in relatively younger people, say experts. The recent case of comedian-actor Raju Srivastava (58) suffering a heart attack has put the issue in spotlight again. In May this year, noted singer KK (53) died of cardiac arrest after a concert in Kolkata. Last year, actors Siddharth Shukla (40), Puneeth Rajkumar (46), Amit Mistry (47) died due to cardiac arrest. Research finds reason for return of brain cancer
Washington: According to researchers working to develop a cure for brain cancer, the deadliest type of the disease returns because tumours adapt to therapy by recruiting help from nearby healthy tissue. A new study, by a global team including University of Leeds experts, has found that in response to treatment, high-grade gliomas appear to remodel the surrounding brain environment, potentially creating interactions with nearby neurons and immune cells in ways that protect the tumour cells and hide them from the body’s defences. Less carbs, more protein enough to reverse diabetes: Study
Hyderabad: To reverse diabetes and to stop it from progressing among the Indian population, one need not reduce carbohydrate intake on our daily diet to zero, as many earlier studies have indicated. Even a modest reduction in carbohydrate intake with an increase in protein, along with healthy fats, can help to both reverse diabetes as well as prevent its progression, a recent national study by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said.
