UK Energy firm puts itself up for sale – affecting over one MILLION customers
Shell is planning to sell off its household energy supplier Shell Energy in a move that affects over one million customers. The oil and gas giant said in a statement today that it had decided to sell the unit after a five-month review. Shell launched a strategic review of its European retail businesses in January, citing “tough market conditions” as the reason for the review. The sales will be of the company’s retail energy business in Britain, Germany and the Netherlands. In a statement released today, Shell said: “That review has now concluded and as a consequence, we intend to exit those businesses. “A sales process is already underway, with the intent to reach an agreement with a potential buyer in the coming months.” Reuters reported…

Pakistan: Aviation body chief attacks airport security agencies for ‘harassing passengers’
Khaqan Murtaza, Director General of Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), has accused the customs and security officials of harassing passengers at airports across the country to extort money. The Pakistan’s aviation body chief made the allegations while briefing the Senate Standing Committee’s meeting on Aviation at the Parliament House on Monday, Dawn newspaper reported on Tuesday. He alleged that the Customs, Airport Security Force (ASF) and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) officials “continue to collect money by harassing passengers,” the paper said. Biden ‘knew of Ukrainian plan to attack Nord Stream’ three months before explosion
The Biden administration received an intelligence report that Ukraine had a plan for an attack on the Nord Stream pipelines three months before an underwater explosion disabled the natural gas link from Russia to Germany, the Washington Post has reported. A European intelligence service told the CIA that the Ukrainian military was planning an attack using a small team of divers who reported directly to the commander in chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, the paper reported. Huge emergency as boat with 150 onboard sinking in Mediterranean
A boat in the middle of the Mediterranean has issued an urgent distress call after it reportedly went adrift. Water is understood to be coming onto the boat, which currently holds 150 people. The vessel is located in waters between Italy and Greece. Authorities have reportedly been contacted but it is not yet known if they have launched a rescue operation. Source

Rishi Sunak willing to defy Lords over small boats Bill
Rishi Sunak has indicated that he is willing to defy the House of Lords and force his proposed law to tackle small boat crossings through Parliament, as peers threatened to delay the Bill. Speaking to The Telegraph, the Prime Minister said the new measures to reduce migrant crossings were “very strongly” backed by MPs and “incredibly important”. Mr Sunak twice indicated that he was open to using the Parliament Act to ram through the Illegal Migration Bill if needed.
