Cyclone Mocha pummels Bangladesh, thousands left homeless
Although there are no reports of casualties in Bangladesh due to Cyclone Mocha, some coastal areas of Saint Martin and Teknaf have been greatly affected. Nearly 2,500 houses on the island of Saint Martin have been destroyed and thousands are homeless. The executive officer of the Teknaf upazila, Kamruzzaman, said, “In the Sabrang Union, thousands of homes and structures were damaged on the islands of St. Martin and Shahpari. Keir Starmer to give millions of EU nationals the vote
Sir Keir Starmer will hand the vote to millions of EU citizens if Labour wins the next general election, the Telegraph can reveal. Imran Khan says democracy in Pakistan at “all time low” after arrest
Democracy is at an all-time low in Pakistan, Imran Khan has said after his arrest and subsequent release by authorities. The former prime minister was arrested on corruption charges on Tuesday (9 May) but Pakistan’s supreme court has since ruled that this was illegal and ordered his immediate release.
