Telangana govt introduces new EV policy with tax, registration exemption
Hyderabad: In an effort to encourage people to switch over to Electric Vehicle(EV), the State government has decided to provide 100 per cent exemption from road tax and registration fees for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the State. The new EV policy will come into force from Monday. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the new policy was expected to give a major boost to the adoption of electric vehicles across Telangana, aligning with the State’s broader goals of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. Uranium exploration operations in Kurnool district have been halted following orders of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Kurnool: Andhra Pradesh has stopped the Uranium-exploration and mining operations in Kappatralla Reserve Forest in Kurnool district, officials said on Tuesday. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu issued orders to this effect. Hence, the residents of the area need not worry about uranium operations anymore, Kurnool District Collector P Ranjit Basha said. “Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to stop uranium exploration and borewell digging in Kappatralla Reserve Forest,” Basha said in a press release. At least 12 injured in explosion at Mathura refinery of Indian Oil Corporation
The Mathura Indian Oil Corporation refinery blast comes two days after another serious fire mishap in IOC’s Vadodara’s plant which claimed two lives. Situaiton is now under control in Mathura, officials say Mathura: A massive explosion in oil refinery of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) in Mathura left at least 12 people injured on the Agra-Delhi National Highway here on Tuesday, police said. This comes a day after a blast in an Indian Oil refinery in Vadodara, Gujarat in which two people were killed. More trains partially cancelled due to derailment of goods train in Peddapalli
A goods train derailed in Peddapalli district on Tuesday late night leading to the cancellation and diversion of several trains under the SCR jurisdiction. Hyderabad: Due to derailment of goods train between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam, the following trains running on November 13 are partially cancelled. Accordingly, Nagpur – Secunderabad (20101) and Secunderabad – Nagpur (20102) have been partially cancelled. A goods train derailed in Peddapalli district on Tuesday late night leading to the cancellation and diversion of several trains under the SCR jurisdiction. SCR officials said 11 wagons of a goods train carrying iron ore had derailed between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam. As per the officials, the incident happened at around 10 PM on Tuesday. Fire breaks out in government school in Nirmal
Officials of the education department said crockery and some essential commodities were burnt Nirmal: Fire broke out from the kitchen of a government school, reportedly due to leakage in an LPG cylinder at Shantinagar here on Wednesday. No casualties were reported. The cost of property damaged in the mishap was assessed to be Rs 30,000. Officials of the education department said crockery and some essential commodities were burnt. Staffers of the school informed officials of the fire department, who in turn rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames.
