Woman ends life over microfinance loan harassment in Medak’s Toopran
A 38-year-old woman, from Toopran in Medak district, died by suicide after alleged harassment from microfinance companies over loan repayments. Unable to bear the pressure of moneylender, she ended her life on Sunday. Medak: A woman, who had borrowed multiple loans from micro finance companies to build her house, died by suicide by jumping into a lake in Toopran town. Varalakshmi (38), had reportedly borrowed Rs 4 lakh from a micro finance company, which allegedly continued to demand payments even after she repaid Rs 8 lakh over the past few years. Sigachi blast: Expert panel finds multiple violations, holds management responsible
A Technical Expert Committee probing the June 30 blast at Sigachi Industries in Pashamylaram has held the management responsible for gross safety violations. The 278-page report revealed that combustible MCC dust, untrained workers operating faulty machinery, and inadequate firefighting systems led to the explosion that killed 54 workers. Physically challenged farmer burnt alive while burning paddy stubble in Medak
A physically challenged farmer, Bagudam Narasimhulu, died in Podichenpally while burning paddy stubble. Unable to escape the rapidly spreading fire, he was trapped despite his wife Sulochana’s cries for help and nearby farmers’ attempts to rescue him Medak: A physically challenged farmer was burnt alive while burning paddy stubble in his field at Podichenpally in Papannapet mandal. According to the police, Bagudam Narasimhulu (47) had gone to burn the residue in his paddy field along with his wife Sulochana on Saturday evening. As he was unable to move quickly, Narasimhulu could not escape after the fire spread and trapped him.
