Wet paddy: Farmers stage protest at paddy centre in Mahabubabad
Farmers allege that officials are refusing to purchase their wet paddy Mahabubabad: Farmers in Pedda Mupparam village of Danthalapally mandal in Mahabubabad staged a protest at the local paddy procurement centre, alleging that officials are refusing to purchase their wet paddy. The farmers stated that they had been waiting for weighing of their paddy at the procurement centre for the past one month, but unseasonal rains had caused damage to their stocks. The grain exposed to rain started sprouting. The protesting farmers demanded that the government immediately intervene and ensure the purchase of the wet paddy to save them from financial distress.

Man kills father in Jagtial for abusing mother
Incident occurred when the father, a daily wage labourer, came home drunk and began abusing his wife Jagtial: A daily wage labourer, Angadi Narsaiah (55), was killed by his son, Venkatesh, for allegedly abusing his mother in Medigadda on Thursday afternoon. According to the police, Narsaiah was not on good terms with Venkatesh over a property dispute. On Thursday, Narsaiah came home drunk and abused his wife. Enraged over this, Venkatesh attacked Narsaiah with an iron rod and hit him repeatedly on the head. Narsaiah died on the spot. Police shifted the body to the Korutla hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.

According to the local people, Rachakonda Naveen had been pressuring his father Devaiah to distribute the latter’s properties so that he could clear his debts. As Devaiah refused to do so, Naveen entered an argument with his father. As the argument turned serious, Naveen attacked his father with a knife. While Devaiah sustained an injury on his hand, Naveen sustained serious injuries. He has been shifted to Jagtial hospital for treatment.

Landslides kill three as torrential rains lash coastal Karnataka
NDRF, SDRF and local police are involved in the ongoing efforts to rescue those trapped. Mangaluru (Karnataka): Heavy rains and landslides across Karnataka’s coastal Dakshina Kannada district have claimed three lives, officials said on Friday. On Thursday night, a landslide struck a home at Montepadavu Kodi near here, trapping five people under debris, they said. A woman and her child were pulled from the debris and hospitalised in critical condition. However, another child of the woman was found dead. Heavy rains and the limited access to the site have hampered rescue operations. YouTuber faces contempt proceedings for defamatory remarks against judges

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday initiated suo motu contempt proceedings against Chandigarh-based journalist and YouTuber Ajay Shukla for his “scandalous”, defamatory and contemptuous remarks against a few apex court judges in a video uploaded on his channel.
