      Telangana: Ganja worth Rs 72.50 lakh seized in Asifabad, one arrested

      According to Superintendent of Police DV Srinivas Ra, the accused driver was identified as Balvir Singh from Madhya Pradesh Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A driver was arrested for allegedly smuggling banned ganja in Wankidi mandal centre on Thursday. A total of 290 kg of ganja worth Rs 72.50 lakh and the container were seized from his possession. Superintendent of Police DV Srinivas Rao, in a statement, said that the accused driver was identified as Balvir Singh from Madhya Pradesh. On being interrogated, Singh confessed to committing the crime after being offered Rs 1.50 lakh per trip.       Telangana: 30 students fall ill after consuming contaminated food in Asifabad

      Students allege that food was being cooked in unhygienic conditions, while drinking water was not protected with water tank getting cleaned monthly once Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Thirty students fell ill, allegedly after consuming contaminated food at a government hostel-attached school, run by the Tribal Welfare Department, in Wankidi mandal centre on Thursday. The students complained of stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea after they had dinner at 10 pm. They were immediately shifted to a primary health centre in Wankidi mandal headquarters. Except for three, 27 students were discharged. The three students were undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital in Asifabad.
