First Israeli recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, who made Negev desert bloom, passes away
Indian-origin Israeli agriculturist Eliyahu Bezalel, a Pravasi Bharatiya Samman awardee who transformed the Negev desert into a horticultural success story, died at 95. A pioneer exporter and greenhouse innovator, he maintained deep ties with India and shared his expertise widely. Jerusalem: Indian-origin entrepreneur Eliyahu Bezalel who started as a shepherd in Israel and went on to become an award-winning agriculturist and recipient of the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, passed away on Sunday. He was 95.
