Tense situation at Bhongir collectorate as farmers denied permission to protest
JAC of land losers is demanding an upward revision in compensation or a realignment of the road to spare their lands from acquisition for Regional Ring Road project. Bhongir: As part of the intensified agitation by farmers losing land for the Regional Ring Road, they called for a protest demonstration at the Bhongir collectorate on Sunday. The JAC of the land losers, backed by the BRS, BJP and CPM, is demanding an upward revision in the compensation or a realignment of the road to spare their lands from acquisition. The police rejected permission for the protest and dismantled the arrangement at the protest camp adding to the tension in the area. BRS chief Chandrashekhar Rao pays respects to his late sister
Chitti Sakulamma passed away on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday paid his respects to his late sister, Chitti Sakulamma. After offering a heartfelt tribute to her mortal remains, he consoled the grieving family members and relatives. Sakulamma passed away on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad. She was 82 and had been ailing for some time. BRS working president KT Rama Rao, former minister and MLA, T Harish Rao, and MLC K Kavitha, along with their family members, also paid their respects at Sakulamma’s son’s residence here. The funeral is scheduled to take place in the afternoon.

Two smugglers held with 82 kg ganja at Kunavaram checkpost
The substance was being smuggled from Malkangiri district of Odisha to Kerala in a car Kothagudem: Excise enforcement personnel seized ganja being smuggled from Malkangiri district of Odisha to Kerala in a car and arrested two smugglers. The substance was seized during inspections at Kunavaram road RTO checkpost. About 82 kgs of ganja was found hidden in a special compartment made behind the back seats of the car in plastic covers. The enforcement team led by CI Sunkari Ramesh seized the car along with ganja. The accused Kottapanju Bakruddeen and Abdhal Nizad, who were smuggling the ganja, were arrested.
